Cardi B urgently stops her New Zealand concert after suffering a wardrobe malfunction while twerking

Cardi B was forced to halt her concert at Mount Maunganui’s Bay Dreams festival in New Zealand on Wednesday after suffering an on-stage wardrobe malfunction.

The 26-year-old rapper told the crowd half-way through her 30-minute set that she had to remove ‘this this wedgie out my a**’.

After finishing a song, Cardi announced: ‘Anyways, y’all, I need a little break!’

Much to the audience’s amusement, she added, ‘I’ll be right back, I gotta take this wedgie out my a**’, before running backstage.

Cardi was twerking vigorously throughout her set, which is believed to have caused her bejewelled outfit to ride up her buttocks.

At one point during the performance, she leaned forward and placed both hands on the ground to support herself while shaking her derrière.

Cardi had received a traditional Māori welcome when she arrived in New Zealand on Wednesday morning.

Members of the Kai Haka group, led by warrior Ereu Wilton, performed the haka for the songstress while she excitedly watched on.

Airport security screened off a section of the arrivals hall for the group to perform their traditional dance.

‘Thank you for sharing your culture with me and I hope I can show you some of mine,’ the New York native said afterwards.
