Megan Thee Stallion was performing at Amalie Arena in Tampa on Saturday night when she was forced to take a break on stage after she broke down in tears
Megan Thee Stallion was visibly moved during her recent performance, shedding tears on stage.
The “Cobra” songstress had an emotional moment while performing at the Amalie Arena in Tampa this past Saturday. Fans witnessed Megan breaking down and temporarily halting her concert, a scene that was captured by audience members and projected for all to see on the venue’s big screens.
Clips of the touching incident have been circulating on X, previously known as Twitter, showing the star pausing her act as she seemed to be crying. The raw emotion was magnified as live cameras broadcasted her tearful face on the massive screens behind her.

While it’s unclear what exactly triggered Megan’s emotional response, the artist has recently had to confront disturbing fake AI-generated content of herself online. Explicit videos were spread across X, prompting the distressed rapper to make a public statement, reports the Mirror.
“It’s really sick how yall go out of the way to hurt me when you see me winning,” Megan expressed on her social media on June 8. “Yall going too far, Fake a– s–t. Just know today was your last day playing with me and I mean it,” she declared, garnering support from over 180,000 followers.
Eminem has stirred up controversy with a line in his new song “Houdini” that many fans are calling insensitive towards Megan Thee Stallion. Back in 2020, Megan alleged she was shot in the feet by Tory Lanez, leading to widespread scrutiny and mockery from some in the hip-hop community. Despite her ordeal, rappers like Drake have taken jabs at her in their lyrics.
However, after Tory Lanez’s conviction in 2022 for the shooting, Eminem is now under fire for referencing the incident in his music. He raps: “If I was to ask for Megan Thee Stallion if she would collab with me / Would I really have a shot at a feat / I don’t know, but I’m glad to be, back.”
While Eminem is notorious for dissing fellow celebrities, this particular lyric has not sat well with everyone. Critics argue it’s in poor taste to make light of Megan’s traumatic experience.
One Twitter user expressed outrage, saying: “it is so f—ing cruel how men constantly make fun of meg’s abuse. like you’re eminem why tf do you care about megan thee stallion? ? ? ? “. Another person commented on social media: “Imagine bringing up someone’s trauma AND it’s not even a bar.”
Someone else called out the rapper’s insensitivity: “Yea this was disgusting especially coming from a grown man. Just unnecessary.” A social media commentator labeled Eminem as “out of touch” elaborating: “Eminem’s career has largely been built on being shocking and provocative to certain audiences … Being 51 years old and taking shots at Megan Thee Stallion? Out of touch.”
