Jordin Sparks hopes to be back on American Idol, but this time as a judge. Katy Perry announced that she would be leaving the show after seven years on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Jordin Sparks was a contestant on season six and won

A former winner of the singing contestant would like to join the show once more, but this time as a judge.

Jordin Sparks volunteered to take Katy Perry’s spot on the judging panel on the next season of American Idol. She posted about on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she heard a seat opened up. She wrote: “Oh hiiii @AmericanIdol —I hear a seat opened up at the judges table! I’m putting my name in the hat!”

Fans on X replied back to her post, agreeing that she should take over for Katy. One person wrote: “Please do. Honestly. I think having an Og winner is exactly what it needs.” Another person wrote: “This is a perfect choice, she can guide them through something she’s experienced! Maybe a new star will be discovered.. like the good old days!”

Jordin has had much success after winning the singing competition. She has released four studio albums, which includes, No Air, with Chris Brown. The song made a comeback on TikTok with people making videos to it and calling it a “bop.”

American Idol producers have been on the search to see who will take over for Katy Perry and joing Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan on the judging panel. The judges are thinking of bringing back former judge, Jennifer Lopez, or having a new face join like Taylor Swift. A source told the Daily Mail that the offer would be a “long shot.” They said: “That is a long shot. They are just thinking about what would be the best-case scenario, namely to get the biggest star in the world. But they aren’t holding their breath on getting Taylor.”

Bringing back Jennifer would also work. The source said: “J.Lo will be asked to come back. When people come back, things work…people like nostalgia, and people like Jen. It would be a big get to get her back.” She was a judge on Americal Idol on season 10, 11, 13 and 15.
