The singer initially claimed to have tapped the new San Antonio Spurs player on the shoulder, a story she is sticking to. But Wemby has stated otherwise, saying she grabbed him while speaking to a reporter after practice on Thursday afternoon.

“I decided to approach him and congratulate him on his success.  It was really loud, so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention,” Britney said of the encounter.

Having since caught wind of Wembanyama’s version of events, she’s insisting she never grabbed Wembanyama.

“I am aware the players statement where he mentions ‘I grabbed him from behind’ but I simply tapped him on the shoulder,” she offered, per TMZ. “His security then backhanded me in the face without looking back, in front of the crowd. Nearly knocking me down and causing my glasses off my face.”

For emphasis, Britney claimed that she was swarmed by around 20 fans herself while trying to get to ARIA Hotel’s Catch restaurant but her security didn’t hit anyone.

She also did not like Wembanyama’s demeanor while he relayed his version to the reporter as he seemed to take it for a joke.

“I also don’t appreciate nor do I think this is a laughing matter,” she added. “Watching the player smile and laugh was cruel and demoralizing with the situation that took place. I am 5’3 and he’s 7’4.”

TMZ has reported that sources close to the singer have informed them that no one from Victor’s team has reached out to apologize to her.
