Despite criticism about her body and twerk, Megan Thee Stallion doesn’t care what people think.

The rapper says no one else controls her image and she will twerk if she wants to, even if some people find it offensive because she’s got the assets. “Twerking was supposed to be a thing that was sneaky fun – like, bad and now it’s a thing where it’s super normal, it’s very casual, you see everybody doing it,” she explains to W Magazine.

“Let me say this – different body types offend different people. So if you’re maybe smaller, twerking doesn’t come off as offensive, but when you got the assets, then that’s when it comes off as, ‘Oh my God, what the hell is going on?’ but I can’t help it that I got this body,” she adds. Megan refuses to allow anyone tell her what to do. “I ‘ma twerk, and it’s gon’ look this way, and it might be offensive to you because I look like this, but I can’t help it. I don’t care that you feel that way.”

“A lot of times a lot of stuff is still happening where people do try to control your image; they try to put together a plan for you. But I have a lot of freedom.” Previously the star dealt with a lot of claims about her body not being natural. “In person, everybody is cool about it but on the internet they’re like ‘your boobs are fake, oh her body must be fake,” she says.

While it’s no secret that Megan Thee Stallion is an expert twerker, it turns out that she’s been dealing with some backlash related to her love of a good butt-bounce.

Recently, the rapper sat down with Geniusto chat about everything from her musical inspirations to her appreciation of the women who raised her. And while most of the conversation centered around her new album, there was also some talk about the trolls who think she spends too much time dancing.

“I don’t know when it happened, that sometimes people get offended by twerking, but that shit is crazy,” she said. “I love to throw my ass. I love to shake my ass. That’s one of my favorite things to do, and I be seeing motherfuckers be like, ‘All you do is shake your ass.'”

However, Megan refuted the criticism by listing a number of other things she does, before talking about how some of her nitpicking haters may be willfully ignoring some important details.

“I be like, ‘Damn. Actually, I go to school and I rap and sometimes I be cooking. I’m a dog mom. I’m an awesome friend. [Twerking is] not all I be doing,” Megan added. “It’s just that maybe when you’re logging in, you came to see me twerk. ‘Cause you ain’t see that freestyle I just dropped?’ I can rap and twerk.”
