American Idol fans were left ‘furious”, claiming the competition is “rigged” as fan favorite singer Ziggy Krassenberger was cut from the top 24.

Fans were distraught, saying judges “got it wrong”, as Ziggy was booted from the competition, with many calling for the 22-year-old singer to be brought back.

Ziggy, is an aspiring singer from The Netherlands who won viewers over with his “mesmerizing” audition, as he sang a captivating rendition of Lady Gaga’s song Million Reasons. After the unforgettable performance, Ziggy earned a enthusiastic yes from the star-studded judges and was awarded a golden ticket to Hollywood.

But as Ziggy entered the Final Judgement, he was asked to participate in a sing-off with his fellow contestant Mackenzie Sol to the song Jealous by Labrinth. After the moving performance from both singers, Mackenzie advanced to the Top 24 while Ziggy was told to pack his bags and go home – much to the “extreme disappointment” of fans everywhere.

As the top 24 were unveiled Sunday evening, dozens of fans flooded the American Idol Instagram page, sharing their dismay at Ziggy’s exit from the show. One fan commented: “How can they not pick Ziggy??? They just ruined the whole show for me! Don’t even want to watch now!!! Ziggy is next Adam Lambert!” Another added: “Furious about ziggy being gone, he deserved it, hope hailey mia go all the way and win this freak rigged show, I got her back since the voice.”

A third fan fired off: “EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN IDOLS DECISION NOT TO PUT ZIGGY THROUGH.” And another shared: “Ziggy should be in the top 24. He was so much better and mesmerizing to watch over the guy with the mouth and facial expressions. Sorry, judges got it wrong. I love them but they got it wrong. Good luck Ziggy. Hopefully your country will come around and love you like we do.”
